Patterned Leaves

Today we created these patterned leaves.

We examined some real leaves noting the veins pattern and notched edges.  

The students then drew their own leaves and we went over the lines using sharpie markers. 

Next we added patterns in sections using crayons.  

We used watercolour paints to paint inside our leaves.

Once the leaf was dry we wet the background using a sponge and applied liquid dye using pipettes.  Our fingers were useful for getting the dye into all white gaps!
