Creating Designs from the Natural Environment

My Year 6 art group have been learning to use nature as a source of inspiration for designs.

This week the students looked at photographs of NZ creatures, flora and fauna and created basic design symbols.  Next we took our basic symbol and modified it in some way by rotation, reflection, stretching, compressing or adapting.

We used plasticine to show our sequential design process.
